Our Chef

Founded in 2018 by Nathan Metts, Life of the South Catering is a well-established catering business located in downtown Newnan, Georgia. After completing his Culinary Arts Degree from the Art Institute of Atlanta, Nathan spent the past 12 years building his career as a professional chef. In May of 2021, Life of the South Catering opened its first market retail location. The store front offers an intimate catering venue for small dinner parties, as well as a market for casseroles, steaks, chicken salad, pimento cheese, and other delicious market food items. The owner envisions a business that provides southern hospitality, fresh food, and an exceptional catering experience. 

Nathan is originally from Lakeland, Georgia and began professionally cooking in 2010.

Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager

Born in Lakeland, Georgia, Ashley was raised on a farm, learning the aspects of hard work and loyalty. He spent many years managing a Quail Plantation in South Georgia, before moving to Newnan. In 2020, he began his career as Sous Chef and Kitchen Manager for Life of the South Catering.

Purchasing and Operations Manager

Christy is a Newnan native and is married to David, a local residential designer. She and her husband have two teenage daughters.  With a recent career change, Christy is a fresh set of eyes, being new to the food service industry.  She is excited to bring her skills of organization and customer care to a great catering team.

Communications and Social Media Marketing

Ryan is a recent college graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, receiving her BA in Graphic Design and Social Media Marketing. She is a Coweta County native, now raising her two boys with her husband, Andrew. Her experience includes customer service, retail management, and business branding. Ryan’s role at Life of the South includes customer communication and marketing through social media platforms.
